The metal used in most UV and UHV is a stainless steel with iron, has chromium, nickel, with traces of silicon, carbon, manganese, molybdenum, niobium and titanium, is used as a structural constituent vacuum environment, has the advantage of being available and relatively inexpensive, has high mechanical strength enough, not hardening, welding with ease, has a low degassing, is quite inert chemically.
